Hi church family

This past weekend our church was part of a huge event raising funds for the ‘Stop Hunger Project’ in South Africa. The Afrikaans Christmas Carols event was hosted in Geraldton (25 Nov) and Perth (1 & 2 Dec). Many folks from Grace Church – and some from other churches – played a significant role to make this a successful event. $7600 was raised in support of the charity ‘Helping Hands – Stop Hunger Project.’

Our church also sold ‘boerewors rolls, pan cakes and more’ at the event as part of our church’s annual fundraising efforts. This brought in a great result of $3,581 for our church. Thanks to everyone involved.

It was a great blessing and a joy to connect with so many people and to do it for such a worth cause.

‘He has shown you, O mankind, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.’ Micah 6:8

Please note the change in venue and time for our upcoming Family Carols event which takes place on Saturday 15 Dec. It’ll 6pm at the C3 Building in Joondalup (yes, the very church we would love to buy.) It will be a great opportunity to “try before we buy” to use the building on this occasion. Even just using it as a once off venue will be awesome as it’s set up beautifully for stage productions.

Our family Carols event is a time to bring our kids along and together as families enjoy celebrating the true meaning of Christmas. Many children are involved in the production and we’d love to see you all there.

This Sunday we will again celebrate Lord’s Supper together. Let’s use the next few days to reflect on the Lord’s mercy and wrath that was displayed by Christ death on a sinners cross. Let’s ponder these

words Paul wrote regarding us partaking in the Lord’s Supper 2 Cor 11:26 “For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.” In that passage Paul also says we should partake of the Lord’s Supper in a worthy manner, showing love and forgiveness to those around us.

God bless and see you all on Sunday

Pastor Joe
