Hi church family. I hope you have all enjoyed some special times together with friends and family over the Christmas break. I’m looking forward to seeing you all at church again as we get underway for 2018.

I’m excited to report that much progress has been made with the ‘Genesis Music Project.’ There is so much more to do still and I value your prayers and support as the date draws nearer. We are only a month and a half away before the first life event. Tickers are available online or if you prefer you can buy them at church from this Sunday onwards. A Christian movie which is receiving a lot of mainstream attention at the moment is the upcoming ‘Alien Intrusion – Unmasking a deception.’ It’s being released by Creation Ministries and speaks to a topic many of us wonder about. From the Pastor’s desk

Hi church family. I trust you all had a joy filled Christmas Day? This past Christmas Day I was reminded how good it is to belong to a small group as we spent the day together.
The saying is true – our church brothers and sisters really does becomes ones family. What a blessing to do life together.
I want to encourage us all to reach out to folks around us – to help build our sense of community and belonging in our church.

In the new school term we’ll be launching a new Small Group campaign. Our prayer is that more people will be inspired to join a small group. If you would like to join, host or lead a Small Group – please get in touch with the church office as we would love to help you get connected.

‘How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!’

This Sunday Philip Heyns will be preaching at our church. Philip has started studying theology through Veritas College. I’ve worked with Philip to help build his first sermon and am looking forward to hearing him speak from God’s Word this Sunday.

Please continue to pray for me and the Genesis Music Project. The pace is starting to pick up with the studio recordings. There is also a stack of video editing to do as well as logistics leading up to the event. Much excitement is brewing in my heart which I hope you can share with me as we present God’s Word in a vivid way using the medium of Art.

Celebrate Reformation Day

Celebrate Reformation Day

Hi church family

This Sunday is special indeed. We’ll celebrate Lord’s Supper – remembering what Jesus did for us on the cross. His act of sacrifice changed our eternal destination from one of hopelessness to a living hope. Come and celebrate it with us.

On Sunday will also celebrate Reformation Day, looking ahead at the 31st October as the 500th year since the Reformation, an event which changed the landscape of the church and Christianity in a profound way. Do remember that you can attend a special ‘combined service’ for all our Reformed churches on Sunday 4.30pm at Gosnells Reformed Church. (See the add further on in the e- Newsletter)

As we approach Reformation Day – it’s worthwhile mentioning that the world chooses to celebrate Halloween on the same day. And herein lies the contrast. The world celebrates ‘witches, ghosts & death’ while we as believers celebrate The Reformation. These two celebration are in stark contrast to each other. Needless to say we should all examine ourselves as to where we stand in this matter. As your pastor and spiritual leader I want to encourage all of you to not participate in the dark custom of Halloween, but rather focus on the Lord and His goodness. Let us remember, talk about and celebrate the Reformation.
